The rubberized (orange) portion really grabs your boot effectively. Unlike the often cheaply built wooden versions, Boot Hunter is really solidly built and should last for years. Like other boot pullers I have tried, there's a coordination learning curve and I suspect people with balance problems might have mixed results, but that's just a general comment (not sure what other options exist for that issue?). My only complaint (really a comment to consider) relates back to the rubberized boot grabbing region. Once the boot is pulled off, you can't just easily kick the boot out of the slot as you prepare to pull the second boot - it just grabs on too effectively. This means you usually have to bend over and pull it out by hand. If you have back issues, you might prefer a puller that doesn't grab the boot so effectively, with the obvious tradeoff being, well, it won't grab on so effectively. I have never owned a boot remover or boot puller, but struggling after I bought new boots to remove them and to put them on because I didn't know the store offered to stretch them, I found myself struggling and gasping for air every morning to put them on. The same could be said for taking them off. Lots of heavy breathing and stumbling to extract my foot from the boot.
