I was considering buying a small electric glider that I could fly in the local park. While looking on the Internet I came upon the Planemaster Flight Simulator and thought this might be helpful. The Plane Master exceeded my expectations. I have also downloaded the FREE extras Planes and sites. Total is now 22 Planes and 7 Sites. I would urge any purchaser to make sure they read the instructions and F.A.Q;s. It was only after I had been using it for a while that I checked up and found that the distance of the Chase View can be easily altered by using two of the keyboard hot keys. Also that could assign the switch on the transmitter to work the retracts. Although Planemaster will undoubtedly help anyone to learn to fly radio control, it has many options that make it a great product in its own right. You can take the standing viewpoint that you would see if you were operating a model from a fixed point, but it is great fun to fly all the other options and given the difficulties of finding suitable flying sites I think this will be my preference for quite a while. It has so many aircraft which under normal circumstances I would not be likely to own or competent to risk and so many sites that I could not hope the have available. Review: Great for the price, but not perfect - I am still a noobie at rc model plane flying, but at this stage I found this to be a good product at a good price, but it's not without its limitations. Many have already mentioned that the graphics let this flight sim down. I also found that it comes with only 5 airfields/locations but only one is useable and semi realistic. This is a bit limiting. I also found that it only had two 'trainer' aircraft, a 3 channel and a 4 channel. The other 10 aircraft are really for advanced flyers as it come with two jets (fly too fast to learn on), two aerobatic planes, and assorted other challenging to fly airplanes. In the end, I ended up with one airfield and two planes to work with. Still for the price it is a good sim to learn on and a lot cheaper on the pocket than a real plane when you have a crash. I have enjoyed my many hours behind the controls and find this sim a bit addictive. For those like me who are just getting into the hobby I would recommend it, not because it doesn't have limitations, but because at the price it is a really good tool to learn on. I am now considering getting the more expensive Phoenix RC sim, but that's partly because I live in London and it's a bit tricky for me to get to the airfield. From what I've seen the Phoenix sim looks so realistic that I'm hoping it will provide a good substitute to going to the airfield on days when I don't have the time or when it's so cold or windy that it wouldn't be much fun anyway. It also appears to come with a very long list of aircraft you can fly. If access to a flying field is easy for you then I recommend you buy this sim, even though it comes with the above mentioned limitations, and spend any spare cash on your airplane and equipment. If, like me, getting to your flying field is a bit more tricky then I would suggest you also consider the more expensive Phoenix sim.
