Is this putty magnetic? Does it come with a magnet? Thanks!

No, this particular putty is not magnetic, nor does it come with a magnet. There is one available that is magnetic and comes with a magnet. It is called Aaron's Super Magnetic Thinking Putty.

is this good for a 9 year old boy?

Yes! I have a 3 year old girl... it's not the best idea for her because she forgets to put it back in the tin when she's not using it. But my 6, and 11 year old boys LOVE it! Keeps them busy for quite a while. They both have ADHD and it's great for calming and to keep their hands busy so they don't feel like they have to keep moving so much. :-)

Is there any special properties of the "Super Scarab" color or does it just look cool?

From Crazy Aaron's website: Super Scarab offers incredible color shift from blue into purple right through to red and copper. Its smooth aqua tones dance in the light and hypnotize the eye.

This is used for calming. Helps keeps hands occupied. Helps kids and adults. Or can just be used for fun.
