I'm an admitted fan of both Jessie Buckley and Christian Bale so that sealed it for me. It's a bizarre fantasy thriller with comic book elements and a homage to 1930's gangster and musical movies. Some women's lib stuff thrown in with a reference to the 'me too' movement might have put some people off causing it to fail at the box office but it's only a minor point. I know some viewers didn't care for the surreal mash up of different genres and were perhaps expecting a standard horror movie, which it definitely is not, but I loved all that. It's colourful and spectacular with stunning sets and a strong reference to Bonnie & Clyde also. Quite violent in places, the acting by the two leads is hard not to admire.

Visually creative and decent storyline.
I enjoyed The Bride without knowing much about it beforehand. Decent storyline and certainly not scary in any way. Visually creative which definitely helped maintain the narrative.

Total waste of your time.
Get ready to be confused horror fans, monster franky stein flys to the usa to find a wife, its 1936 chicago, he finds the dr,s cousin and go in search of a bride, at the cemetary mary shelley has just been killed by gangsters so they dig her up, he loves going to the cinema and she loves techno music, together they go on a killing spree of the usa, and dance to the monster mash in clubs, they are hunted by detective philip marlow who is a woman, sorry but i couldnt take any more of this, christian bale, jessie buckley and penelope cruz should be ashamed of this travesty of a great classic horror classic.
