But they are shorter to just hold your pant legs down while riding. Have 2 pairs of light weight quick dry pants. They would always blow up my legs to my knees. These work 2 ways. Go under your foot wear and go side to side. Or fasten to your boot laces and clamp on the pant legs.

**Q: Are these suitable for children or adults?**
A: Sure, I think there's no age limits.

**Q: Would these work for slip cover to hold fabric tight under a dining chair?**
A: I would expect them to work fine, at least for a while. There are small plastic "teeth" that grip the fabric. If the fabric is a loose weave there may be some penetration of the weave and possible damage, but if it is under the chair seat will it matter. The elastic is adjustable from about 7.5 inches to about 6 inches including clips before stretching. It will stretch about 1 more inch. The clips hold the hem of my jeans down over my boots at over 60 mph so I would guess they will hold a slip cover.

**Q: Could these make a suitable hat clip?**
A: I use them to keep my pants legs down while I'm riding a Harley I'm not sure what a hat clip is.

**Q: Can this allow flexibility for cosplay with black tactical pants i want to look tapered and snug ?**
A: As long as the clip can sink it's teeth into a thick hemline or bulk of fabric then yes the straps are elastic and will provide good flex. The key is in what the clips can grip in to so it doesn't slide off edge under tension.

Unfortunately these don't work for me. They clips don't open wide enough to clip on the seam of my jeans so I have to clip it behind the seam on one side and in front on the other, which then means it digs into my ankle bone and is just painful.
