It offers a durable, matt finish that resists water, heat, alcohol, and food acids, making it ideal for both interior and exterior wood surfaces including kitchen worktops and toys. Free from added dryers and toxins, it ensures safe, long-lasting care for your wood, blending performance with eco-consciousness. ## Description Libéron Pure Tung Oil is highly resistant to water, alcohol and food acids. Providing a hard-wearing finish, it is ideal for surfaces such as kitchen worktops, tables and all high quality interior wood. With no added dryers, is a natural product, which can be used on toys and objects in occasional contact with food* such as salad bowls, etc. Being a penetrating oil, it allows the wood to age gracefully and develop a natural patina. Recommended for use on exterior oak.PREPARATIONEnsure the wood surface is bare: remove any wax finishes with Libéron Wax and Polish Remover and any varnish finishes with Libéron Fine Wood Stripper. Clean, dry and ensure the surface is dust free.APPLICATIONReady to use. Apply Tung Oil using a brush or lint-free cotton cloth. For ease of application dilute the first one or two coats with a little bit of white spirit. Allow the oil to penetrate for 20 to 30 minutes then wipe off the excess oil using a clean lint-free cloth. Allow to dry for 24h between coats. Apply further coats of Tung Oil as above, reducing the amount of white spirit used with subsequent coats. Again allow 24h to dry. Apply the last one or two coats of Tung Oil undiluted, as in previous applications. After the final coat has been applied and the excess removed, leave for 24h and wipe over again to aid drying and remove any oil that may have surfaced. We recommend a minimum of 4 coats; more coats will be required for porous or external surfaces. For best results, gently rub with Libéron Ultrafine Steel Wool (grade 0000) between coats. Leave for a few days before use to allow the Tung Oil to dry fully.ADVICEFurniture items may be finished with Libéron Black Bison Wax for an improved lustre.Maintenance: Pure Tung Oil must be maintained on a regular basis. Apply at least once or twice a year or more if required, depending upon exposure to the weather and usage. On exposed external timbers it is important to apply sufficient coats of oil to give the initial protection.Tung Oil is extracted from nuts and may cause an allergic reaction.Store Libéron Tung Oil at a temperature above 5°C. Always replace the lid otherwise the oil can deteriorate. If the excess is not removed and the surface becomes sticky, wipe with white spirit to remove the sticky film and allow to dry before continuing.IMPORTANT: Oil finishes bring out the natural colours of timber. A wet surface will be an indication of the final colour. Always test product on a spare surface or inconspicuous area for colour, compatibility and end result.Remove as much of the oil as possible from the tools after use. Do not dispose of residues and washing water/solvents in the sink, toilet, sewer, bin, etc., in order to avoid discharge into the environment. ## Features - Premium, pure and natural oil for wood care. - Suitable for use on toys and surfaces in contact with food. - Provides a long lasting matt finish. - Highly resistant to water, heat, alcohol and food acids. - Suitable for interior and exterior use. - Coverage: 1L = 8-10m². - Drying time: 4 days. - Tool: Brush or cotton cloth. - Tool cleaning: White spirit. ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B000TAULGO | | Age Range Description | Adult | | Best Sellers Rank | #544,258 in Health & Household ( See Top 100 in Health & Household ) #802 in Wood Conditioners, Waxes & Oils | | Brand | Libéron | | Brand Name | Libéron | | Color | Clear | | Color Code | #F4FAFC | | Container Type | Can | | Coverage | 8-10m² per 1L | | Customer Reviews | 4.7 out of 5 stars 314 Reviews | | Dry Time In Hours | 24 | | Finish Type | Matte | | Full Cure Time | 4 days | | Global Trade Identification Number | 05022640007077 | | Included Components | Libéron Pure Tung Oil 1L | | Indoor Outdoor Usage | Indoor | | Is Waterproof | False | | Item Form | Liquid | | Item Type Name | Pure Tung Oil - 1 L | | Item Volume | 1000 ml | | Item Weight | 0.94 kg | | Manufacturer | Libéron | | Model Name | Pure Tung Oil | | Model Number | 126805 | | Paint Type | Oil | | Part Number | LIBTO1L | | Size | 33.81 Fl Oz (Pack of 1) | | Special Feature | Long lasting | | Special Features | Long lasting | | Specific Uses For Product | Interior/Exterior | | Surface Recommendation | Wood | | Unit Count | 33.81 Fluid Ounces | | Water Resistance Level | Water Resistant | ## Product Details - **Brand:** Libéron - **Color:** Clear - **Finish Type:** Matte - **Size:** 33.81 Fl Oz (Pack of 1) - **Item Volume:** 1000 Milliliters - **Special Feature:** Long lasting - **Unit Count:** 33.814 Fluid Ounces - **Paint Type:** Oil - **Specific Uses For Product:** Interior/Exterior - **Surface Recommendation:** Wood ## Images ![Pure Tung Oil 1L - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71JXZ4N+r+L.jpg) ## Frequently Bought Together - Libéron Pure Tung Oil 1L - HOPE'S 100% Pure Tung Oil, Food Safe, Premium Waterproof Natural Wood Finish and Sealer for Indoor and Outdoor Projects, 32 Fl Oz, 1 Pack - OLASIR 1 Gallon Pure Tung Oil for Wood Finishing 128 oz Natural Food Grade Safe, Waterproof Tung Oil for Wood Floors, Indoor & Outdoor Furniture --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.in/products/81980002-pure-tung-oil-1l](https://www.desertcart.in/products/81980002-pure-tung-oil-1l) --- *Product available on Desertcart India* *Store origin: IN* *Last updated: 2026-10-28*
