Be sure to get or make a sump basin big enough for the bulb switch to float around to auto start and stop. The volume of water this think can move is astounding. Once the bulb float triggers it to start the sump basin is empty in seconds and I am not even using the maximum size pipe! Drained it to a PVC cap with 5 big, angled holes in which sprays like a fire hose to a lower part of the yard away from the house (see video). If making your own sump basin for outdoors put a 1/2 hole or two in the bottom for natural drainage so you don't get mosquitos (no sump can remove all water and a wee bit gets left in your basin that can slowly drain from these holes). If you're putting this next to a downspout box from the gutter, just let your downspout box overflow into your sump basin box so that the downspout box can collect waste and leave your sump basin mostly clean (easier to clean a downspout box than a sump basin!) Also don't worry about a little sand and dirt with this thing, blasts it right out). Has gone through multiple heavy Florida down pours and has never clogged. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Does a great job. Very well made *by D***. on Reviewed in the United States on August 10, 2021* Pumps lots of water quickly. So far I have stuck it into 2 holes with lots of debris. No clogs at all. What pumped out at the other end was almost clear. I do wish they offered more instructions and ideas for hook ups. I am not a pro, just a guy whose yard floods sometimes. I followed cleaning instructions after 4 or 5 uses just to see how that worked. A fair amount of dirt was left when I finished. Probably a good idea to clean it occasionally. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Outside float *by M***R on Reviewed in the United States on April 26, 2021* While this site drainer is probably suitable for others, It did not work for my application.
