Small Space Style: Because You Don't Need to Live Large to Live Beautifully

I read this in one day - not even a whole day. I took notes. The book now sports a rainbow of sticky tabs. I moved from a 3700 square foot home/farm to a 2000 square foot home (15 years), to a 1700 square foot home (3 years), and now have a 987 square foot apartment/condo. I have been trying to downsize for the last 20 years and feel I am finally getting there. What I like about this book: 1. Capsulized information/easy to read. 2. Practical information that I can apply directly to my situation. (Caveat: There is a lot of information that can't work in the climate I live in except in warmer weather) 3. Much of the information is sustainable. 4. She doesn't try to sell me on minimalism (I will be a minimalist when Elton John becomes one - aka never). 6. Lovely illustrations. 7. Last but not least, as a designer myself, her ideas are great from a design perspective.

Love the layout of the book and the photos are beautiful. The simplicity of the style and working with a small space was what drew me to the book. I’ve been very inspired by the authors ideas.

I liked that these ideas work not only for small homes but also for any size space to make it more functional. Very pretty style as well. Great for people downsizing too!

This book is SOOO good. I first borrowed it from the library, but just KNEW I had to have a copy. It's so creative and has so many good ideas, you have to keep looking over and over to discover more!

I have a small house. Larger than hers in the book but wanted ideas on how to use every square inch appropriately . I loved her photos of her darling abode that is lived in. Great ideas for storage that I hadn't previously thought of. Most of us have too much stuff, stuff we don't use, stuff we don't need, even stuff we don't like but we might need it sometime. The book made me realize that I can rethink how I am using my space now and simplify my life as well. If you're thinking of downsizing to a smaller space this book will give you ideas. I love this book.

If you’re looking for a lovely coffee table worthy book of gorgeous photos for inspiration with an exceedingly light dose of how-to’s sprinkled in, this is a great book. The intended recipient was looking for a volume more evenly focused on the ‘how-to’. The book is gorgeous enough I considered keeping it— however I truly do not need another coffee table book, so back it goes!

A delightful book full of great ideas and good feelings! Beautiful photos, engaging writing, and inspiring ideas even if you don’t live in a tiny house. I can’t put it down as I read and enjoy it’s perfect style and wonderful essence. I’m so glad I bought Whitney’s book. I’m so totally enjoying it!

Ein tolles Buch, das sich auch super als Deko eignet. Womit wir auch gleich beim Thema sind: Whitney Leigh Morris beschreibt hier, wie sie, und andere, ihr Häuschen perfekt und funktional gestaltet, unter anderem indem sie Gebrauchsgegenstände als Dekoration verwendet. Klingt jetzt vielleicht erstmal merkwürdig, macht nach einem Blick in dieses wunderschöne Buch aber extrem Sinn. Klare Empfehlung für alle, die auf kleinem Raum möglichst schön leben möchten. Nicht nur für Tiny House Enthusiasten, auch für Besitzer von kleineren Immobilien (unter 100m² oder so) sehr inspirierend. Aber beachten: Es handelt sich hier um ein englischsprachiges Buch.
