It's an excellent and accurate little device. It requires a waterproof bag for windsurfing or swimming, since the water-proofing is limited. I often use aLOKSAK bags (high-quality ziplock bags) and a cheap iPhone armband, or a waterproof armband.The unit definitely logs doppler speeds, although it does not log precision data. Comparison tests that I and many others did have proven it to be as accurate as the previous gold standard, the Locosys GT-31 (which is not produced anymore). It has officially been accepted at one of the GPS speed surfing sites, the GPS Team Challenge. Inofficially,it's also ok to post results at GPS-speedsurfing.com, as long as you don't claim new records.I like that the unit is small an cheap. I have also used it for biking, by just attaching it with some velcro to the handlebars. For windsurfing, the small screen size is a small drawback, since I cannot read the speed while sailing. But checking top speeds during a break usually is no problem, and I'm mostly interested in evaluation tracks on my computer when I get home, using software like GPS Action Pro or GPSResults. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars Good value. At least 42,000 samples. (Have not tested for maximum.)Battery life is at least 14 hours while recording. (Have not tested for maximum.)Reasonably resilient to water. (Have not tested more than hiking in mist.)Seems to have good GPS accuracy. (Have not fully characterized it yet in cities and under dense forest. But its (Kalman?) filter is superior to a Surf3 GPS watch I have when at rest and slightly better in motion.)OK:Presentation as USB drive. But track data is in .FIT format. And other files are undocumented, binary format.Cons (all are less important to me than any of the "Pros"):Does not indicate storage capacity and current usage.Two-button user interface is slow and tedious. Press-hold needed too often. Expect button life-time issues.User interface not optimized for always-recording when powered on. And not optimized for showing time/date/lat/lon.When connected as a USB drive, does not show if fully charged.Con, but do not matter to me at all. The software does not work with Windows 10 and the '.fit' file format is not usable in either Windows nor Linux systems.
