Not really. It has beveled edges. To install as a flush, you would need the edges to be straight.

Hello, This item is not suitable for ceiling use. The included wall clips are only meant for sidewall installation.

what is the exact size of the vent? our opening is 3 3/4 x 9 5/8.

Hello, Our 4 x 10 will be undersized on the back and should fit this opening. It may be a tight fit however.

are there any plastic parts?

There is a cover over the damper handle that is plastic (all the way to the left in this picture), but that’s it. Damper is metal and the vent cover is cast aluminum.
