This is Bruno Nicolai's music score for the 1972 giallo/suspense/thriller film The Case of the Bloody Iris/What Are These Drops of Blood Doing on Jennifer's Corpse? The film stars the lovely Edwige Fenech. The late Nicolai left us with some great music. It sounds better than some of the lifeless, processed, gimmicky, autotuned music being made today. The music is tense and cool. Nicolai flavored the "Jennifer theme" with a pop sound. In the film, a mysterious serial killer preys on supermodels living in an apartment. "Giallo" means "yellow" in Italian. Mystery/suspense novels are printed with yellow covers. The giallo genre dominated Italian cinema in the 1960's and 1970's, but it ran out of energy in the 1980's. The Hollywood movie The Eyes of Laura Mars(1978) was a giallo-style movie filmed in English. Ennio Morricone and Bruno Nicolai composed music for the James Bond rip off Operation Double 007(1967). This CD delivers in quality and quantity.
