How to Create Mandalas (Dover How to Draw)

When I came across this book I had no idea what a "Mandala" even was but after looking at some of the examples I thought they were intricate and beautiful and that I would NEVER be able to do that! But I wanted to try and the book was a reasonable price so with "Prime" here it was in just a couple of days. I could not believe the first one I created - you won't find it in a book anywhere but I was proud...it was fun and it just kind of gets your attention. I'm really enjoying my new hobby!!

Wow! I have had this book for several months and just now have sat down and made my first ever mandala. It was super easy to follow. The book gives you all the tools to create original mamdalas. I can not believe how relaxing the process was. The author of this book shared that making a mandala is like meditation and can promote self-awareness. This proved to be true for my experience. I do agree with other reviewers that a brief history of the mandala would GREATLY add to this book and the creative process. After making my mandala I actually looked in the book for a page about the history and was surprised there was none. After enjoying this so much I will learn the history on my own. If you love mandalas but think you can't make one get this book because you CAN do this and it's a great way to relax

Enjoy the variety and size of images. It is a coloring book and does not really teach how to create but I like the designs

Comprehensive and step by step mandala construction for beginners. I recommend participants to my mandala workshops who are exploring this art for the first time to buy this book. Easy, clear and with exercises to complete mandalas already begun. It can bleed through with certain media so use a thick paper underneath. One of two I recommend in my mandala workshops.

I had never made Mandalas before this book. I looked on YouTube on how to construct Mandalas, only to get confused with so many dang circles made with a compass. I assigned a Mandala Project to all 198 of my student via virtual learning. We all enjoyed it immensely and it was a great way to use art for therapy. Now we’re going to post it on our webpage and share with the others in our classes. We all loved it!

I like the directions I like that there were mandalas to color and draw.Would recommend helix protractor. It’s easy to use you can slip it into the book or not using it. Enables you to make circles and lines to duplicate and have consistency through your Mandala.

First, an example of the completed mandala is given, then there is a "map"/graph of a circle with circles at different spacing within the outer circle to the center and lines radiating from the center to the outside ....which is set up to correctly draw a mandala similar to the original. Opposite the page where you are your mandala, are 4 quadrants on which different squiggles, arcs, etc are shown for spacing. It worked out great for me. The only thing is, be sure not to use markers that bleed through when coloring the already drawn manadala as it is on the back side of the quadrants showing you how to draw the mandala yourself. I hope that is clear. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is for the thickness, or lack thereof, of the paper in the book.

Really easy to use with suggestions for practice pages. Would be great for anyone just starting to make mandalas or for anyone wanting inspiration and or practice. Arrived on time. Would buy from this seller again.
