I had a 12 inch scar across my abdomen that hurt like He**. It was hard for me to get out of bed but of course the nurses in the hospital forced me to get out of bed the day after my surgery. This Binder helped me get out of bed and I used it for the first 3 weeks or so. Each time I wanted to get out of bed I put it on before trying to get up and this reduced the pain 100 fold. It was still painful but without using the binder getting out of bed was unbearable. I highly recommend this product for post abdominal surgery support. It also helped when being active such as walking helping me be active very soon after my surgery. The sizing was as marked so it fit perfectly. I purchased a medium and weigh 160 pounds and wear a women's size 12/14. The fabric was soft and not itchy which was a concern of mine prior to trying it on.
