What's the difference of the "Plus" vs the original?

Basically it has slightly better motion detection sensors, I think specifically a gyroscope, to detect rotation and orientation better, which some newer games take advantage of. The original I think only had accelerometers that detect movement in various direction. A gyroscope adds in detection of rotational movement much better than just accelerometers. There was also initially an accessor you could plug into the originals to add the feature but later models quickly just built them in.

does it work on the old wii?
