And devices that have auto on/off features or are temperature controlled?** A: Yes, this is basically a step down transformer, this plugs into a 220 or 240 Volt AC outlet and puts out 120 or 110 Volt pure sine wave AC, most things made for that voltage will work just the me same as it did plugged into a 110/120 volt outlet. Note the frequency is still 50 hertz not the normal 60 hertz. A fan will run slower, most modern equipment will not be affected by the frequency difference as they convert the AC voltage to DC and use voltage regulators to make the voltage correct.
