Initial setup is 5 minutes and the software interface is intuitive. There are pre built data blocks for decoding serial devices such as can bus, rs485 etc. It's usb powered and can be used everywhere. I have used this on stepper motors, encoders, canbus systems, modbus rtu decoding and re-pagaging using custom software. I initially bought for work then ended up buying a few for personal use at home to decide some one-line comms from diesel heaters! The function list is great, and the scaling is always set pretty good with little adjustment needed.
