I used these hinges to extend my kitchen counter top with a folding shelf. I lift the shelf quickly and lower and the shelf brackets lock in place, occasionally need a little help to lock. Lift the shelf and manually start the bracket folding and the shelf folds and it seems to lock down in place and doesn't flop around.
