Have any of you put wheels on it after purchase? Are the legs conducive to accepting wheels?

Yes, I had my husband purchase some wheels from Home Depot. Make sure when purchasing the wheels that you take into account the weight of the furniture plus the sand. I got the wheels the swivel.

How well does the tray attach to the stand?

The tray sits snuggly on the stand, but there is nothing “attaching” the two pieces together. I added wheels to the stand, and the only time I have ANY issues w it being two separate pieces is when I roll it over a high door threshold, and even then, I just have to be sure to push from the stand, not the tray. Im a play therapist, and have had kids sit on it, tug on it, etc and never had any issues with the tray moving off the stand!!
