**Q: Is this doppler rechargeable?  or new batteries available for it?**
A: It uses 2 standard AA batteries.

**Q: Can you check carotid or just peripheral vascular? What's cost?**
A: Yes, you can use this device on the carotid as well as more peripheral vessels.  I paid $125 for mine on Amazon.

**Q: Will it detect a fetus heartbeat?**
A: I haven't tried it for that use but I think it probably would.  There are similar devices on the market sold for that purpose.

**Q: Will it work on my dog you think?**
A: It will work on anything that has a pulse!
