Lots of static and even radio reception as well as unbalanced response between different clamps. Keeping the amp close to the clamp solves that, like they do with the radio and blue tooth versions. But I ran a separate cable back to a selector switch, as well as 12V power from the cigarette lighter for each one (actually one stereo preamp will accept two inputs). I used a 1.5" neodynium magnet screwed to the top of each preamp to hold them in place underneath the car as well as smaller magnets with carabiner hooks to string the cables. I had this terrible whine coming from somewhere after I took my Z3 out of the garage after sitting for 10 years. Turned out to be in the drive shaft center bearing, which was of course the hardest thing to get to. But the noise came through loud and clear. I had a old set of headphones and a pocket size headphone amp and 4 preamp outputs going through a phono selector switch so I could easily flip between 4 channels while out for a drive.
