Amazing stretch for better alignment
Years ago, working as a nurse, I remember patients being put into traction for back pain. This back stretch bench is able to do something similar. I'll admit it took some getting used to and changes in how I used it but I now can't imagine not having it. Just a short time of stretching seems to realign my back, improve my posture, and eliminate discomfort. Lying down on the bench before stretching isn't a problem, but getting back up afterward is a little more challenging. After trying a couple of different methods, I have now found what works for me. I only gave 3 stars for ease of use and comfort, but that is not to imply it detracts from the bench. It took some experimenting to find the best option. Initially I didn't use the cervical strap, but eventually found that using it enhanced the stretch. And, for sure it isn't comfortable, but that is what encourages the relaxation that helps loosen muscles to relieve the tension. My husband originally found this bench to use for his back. Now we both use it and got one for our son.

Amazing
This thing is amazing. Ive been suffering with lumbar disc degeneration and herniation which has greatly impeded my life for the last several years. As a last ditch effort before resorting to surgery I began seeing a neuro kinesiologist who recommended this to supplement his treatments. I’ve been using it twice a day for 20minutes and my back hasn’t felt this great in years. I was actually able to do a 6mile hike the other day!! I do wish it was designed a little differently tho, I think it was designed for men. I’m a 5’7” female and the arm pit rollers at the smallest setting are still way too wide. They hit out inside my biceps, not my arm pits. I think the back board overall would need to be narrower for a lot of women. I wish they would make that version of adjustment bc it’s probably even more amazing if it fits you. Also it’s a bit difficult to use if you have a butt, but despite those things you can still manage and it is highly effective. Definitely do NOT use the release lever to undo the traction it snaps back very fast and you can be injured. Just take your arms and feet out and stretch your bent knees side to side for a bit until your back acclimates and then release the lever when you are off the machine. Super easy set up, good quality. Highly recommend.

Works great. I modified my stretch.
I have been mostly focused on my upper back and neck. This machine is great for the low back. I felt wasn't getting a deep enough stretch on the neck end. So I adjusted the machine. I simply set it to a taller setting than I was supposed to. I am 5ft 10.5 and I set it to like 6ft 2 / 6ft 4. Getting into the machine, I already have some tension on the neck strap. I then set the arm bars off to the side. The arm bars are great when I want it to function on my low back more. So not using the arm bars, and set to 4 to 6 inches above my height. I then stretch it to max. I still feel I need a slight deeper stretch. However, after a few uses it did seem to add some space to my discs, less pinched nerves, and the inflammation has gone down in the area. I just wish there was an adjustment for the bungie chord on the neck strap so it doesn't stretch so far out. The bungie only allows for x amount of tension. About 10 to 15% more would be perfect for me. However the machine has helped immensely.

Violent release and no neck traction
First to give you some insight of my injuries, I injured myself years ago squatting at the gym and have since also been part of a few car accidents which have really damaged my lower back to the point it needs to be stretched and popped multiple times a day for some mobility. The device is simple enough to use, though I wish the lever bar was lower, reaching up to crank it hurts the shoulders and forearms. The reaction of the lower back results on your goes being the anchor point as it pulls apart. The stretch is decent however the release mechanism is incredibly violent and will for sure injur those not careful or inexperienced. After having created a tender and loose atmosphere with the stretching the last thing you want to do is to violently release the stretch. Neck traction is nonexistent. I'm considering returning it due to this fact alone. As I purchased this for neck and back. Overall 2.5/5, it works but leaves much to be desired. About my build: I'm a big guy, bodybuilder at 5'8, I was and are still hoping this will fix my back issues or at least give me daily relief. I'll be using it for a week before I make my determination if I want to overlook the fact that the neck traction just isn't there.

light enough to move around, yet strong enough to do what it is designed to do
light enough to move around, yet strong enough to do what it is designed to do. Takes a bit to get used to, but I recommend going slow when stretching and hold for a bit before going further. The release is a bit jarring, would be better if it stepped back instead of instant release.

The worst machine I have ever bought and it caused me neck muscle injury
This is snake oil. I thought this would work but it does not. I tried to extend the length so I wouldn't have to crank the lever too much and that didn't work. If you extend the legs too long then you cannot put the neck strap on The neck strap actually pulled my neck muscle and now the right side of my neck has a strained muscle. Lying down flat just does not work, this needs a lumbar system it actually hurt The arm pads should lock into position, the fact that they just move all the way down causes me to not be able to reach the lever. When cranking on the lever the machine pulls you down and by the time the arm pads stop you your arm is too far past the lever to reach it. The foot holder is a joke and just pure engineering laziness. As it pulls you down your feet start to point forward, you cannot help this and now the padding slides down tot the top of you feet. There should be Velcro straps that warp around your ankles to hold your ankles instead of your foot. The foot pivots at the ankle so this machine forces the toes to point. This is just a medievil torture rack but a poorly made one. Now I'm left with an injured neck I have zero PROS for this product and anyone can look up any review I have done and they are honest and fair. This review is honest and fair. It does not pull your spine at all put pulls at your ankle and armpits, causing your arms and shoulders to shrug upwards towards the neck . I even had to have my wife stand next to this thing to work the lever because I could not reach it anymore and I wasnt even getting a full stretch. I'm 5'7 and this didn't work properly for me. My chiropractor even said this thing is not made properly and could cause more injury since its not securing my joints properly. He suggests getting a gravity one since everything will naturally pull on it's own.

Incredible stretching power
This is capable of some extreme stretching, so make sure you don't overdo it. I considered an inversion table, but didn't like the idea of hanging upside down, and I have limited space. This unit can be stowed away easily and is very well built. I like to use it to stretch my lower back, sometimes with the help of some foam blocks for a more targeted stretch. Really helps the lumbar and I can get a good mid back stretch too with some repositioning. The cervical traction is a nice feature and is easy to get in and out of. Trying to use it with consistency to get the best results. Not a replacement for professional chiropractic or physical therapy, but a great supplement that you can do any time from home.

My back thanks you
I used to go o chiropractor every so often when my lower back locked up. Then on the drive home my back would slip right back to before I had the treatment. This unit is so easy to use and the relief is almost immediate. I can let the unit stretch my back to a variety of safe levels and lay comfortably as I assume the blood flows unrestricted to my squished vertebra. The results way outlast the chiropractor. Also can relieve my knee and neck pain.

Best bench or device for back issues.
This bench is a major improvement from the previous version. It relieves pain, muscle tension and decompresses your back. This is a must have for all back problems. ITs a chiropractor and physiotherapist all in one.
