The only wrinkle in my plan was that the dock was supplying power continuously to the board so it grabbed my phone's Bluetooth connection wherever was nearby. I did not get a chance to listen critically to it since this was a pretty average speaker. And then that speaker died (of unrelated causes). But I like the ease of use, the thoughtful (e.g. different connection options for audio out) and quality build. I plan to use it again with an older NAD amp or possibly on a friend's old, non-Bluetooth car stereo. Low price makes it particularly easy to recommend. Review: Works very well for me and easy to install - I used this to add Bluetooth to a boombox with a line in input. After finding the input and voltages it was very easy, just a bit of soldering. Connected to the 9v supply and ground. Then left and right to the line input. It oscillates when connected directly when at high volume at the boombox. This was an impedance issue. I needed to lower the output signal anyway so added a 47kohm resistor on the output to the input and it works very well. No hissing noise that you may get from the digital part of the Bluetooth receiver can be hear at all, just whatever you are playing on Bluetooth. I connected the Bluetooth receiver via a 10mH inductor to the 9v supply, a "1W" size version that also has some 20 ohm resistance, voltage on device is 7V so it uses hardly any current with 47kohm output resistance. Pairing went well. To pair to another device, as usual, it should not see the previous device when you pair the new one. One caveat though, because of the chosen processor clock speed of 24MHz if you use it in a boombox you get a signal on 96MHz FM, 4th harmonic. Conclusion, it works well without additional noise, the output signal is higher that line in on most audio devices, it is easy to install/connect. It avoids having to have an exactly 5V supply, that saves so much hassle. I used it to give my car stereo bluetooth audio using the 3P connector and the sound quality is great. I especially like the buttonless on/off and connection functionality, I simply wired it into a 12v ignition-switched circuit and now it turns on and off with the stereo system, perfect! My only issues is the fact it also connects as a hands free calling device... this would be fine of there was a mic jack to utilise this feature of the chip but there is not. Luckily most phones (Inc.
