The unit eventually failed, but the Belden 8451 shielded two-conductor wire was still present and I installed this Aiphone unit. To say I should have done this the first time is an understatement. This is a superior unit in every way. Robust construction, excellent sound quality and sensitivity - testing revealed the remote station could clearly hear me from 30 feet away. Harsh call tone cuts thru audio clutter and has an internal volume switch. You will not be disappointed with the Aiphone product. You will need to supply your own 2-conductor power wiring for the AC transformer in the kit, as well as shielded 2-conductor station wire for communications.
