Can this use any type of timecard or does it need a special timecard?

you need to use a side printer time card like AMA-5200. you can see the card here https://amano.com/ama5200/

Can the print message be created manually? Such as typing in our company name? How many character letters/numbers?

this clock cannot do a custom message however we have other models that can. please look at the PIX-200 and PIX-4000. they can both do custom print and multiple lines. more info can be found on our site www.amano.com
