And all the parts arr fit perfectly ### ⭐ 1.0 out of 5 stars IS YOUR BIKE COMPATIBLE? *by M***T on Reviewed in the United States on June 27, 2009* Measure two things on your bike before buying these training wheels to make sure they're going to fit.First, as "C Tam" noted, you're going to need about an inch of exposed thread when you take the mounting nuts of your rear wheel. On each side of your bike, you're going to need to mount both a horizontal and vertical bracket. These two brackets together measure about 1/2 inch in thickness; and you're going to want about a half an inch of thread left over to tighten the nut securely to the bolt.Second (and this is what bit me), the horizontal bracket (which is necessary to keep the vertical bracket vertical) has a semi-circular mouth that's supposed to fit over the frame of your bike, holding it in place. This semi-circular mouth is only 3/4 inch across and on my girl's Schwinn the framing was sort of oval in shape and was about 1 inch in diameter (measured vertically). The bracket wouldn't fit over the framing, making these training wheels useless.So take a look at the metal pipe-like framing on your bike that runs horizontally from the rear axle towards the pedals. Get a ruler and measure the diameter of this pipe. If the pipe is oval shaped instead of round, make the measurement vertically. If the diameter of this framing is more than 3/4", these training wheels won't work for you. Really, they won't. I'm not lying. If the framing is tapered so that it gets bigger the further you get away from the rear axle, you'll want to make your measurement about 4 inches from the rear axle -- that's how long the horizontal bracket is.We went to our local bike shop and found some training wheels specialized for fat frames. They worked great. They also had a wider wheel base than these; and were made of much heavier metal. So even if these training wheels do fit your bike, I wouldn't recommend them.
