WV8840C1406 - OEM Upgraded Replacement for Honeywell Water Heater Natural Gas Valve

Gas Valve for Water Heater
Don't let the negative reviews scare you off. This part arrived in two days and was perfectly compatible with my Rheem water heater that used a Honeywell gas valve (part number WV8840C1406, model number XG40T06EC36U1.One review mentioned seeing tape on the threads upon arrival. This was pipe dope. Another said that it was cross threaded. I think he/she might have cross-threaded it themselves. You have to be very careful not to cross-thread brass fittings. It can take some effort on gas lines to match the threads up.Be sure to watch the video on Youtube "Troubleshoot Water Heater AND Honeywell Gas Valve | Step-by-Step" by Frugal DIY. That lady is incredible. You can easily determine what part is defective (burner valve, thermopile, pilot valve, or PCB board. It's a simple repair. If you have basic hand tools, you can do it.

Previously used
This item has been used. The plastic threads have obviously been installed before I recieved it. We will see if it works?...as we have been without hot water for awhile now, waiting for this replacement.

Worked great.
OEM replacement. It wasn't a Honeywell but Resinol or something like that. Still had the same part number. It was refurbished. Split in ignitor wire insulation but still worked with a little tape. Fast shipping. Worked great after I installed it. Thank God we got hot water again.

Don't buy
The part was clearly used, the threads were already crossed threaded. Don't waste your time or money.
