Review: Quality! - Beautiful watch, great price.
Review: 3- to 4-digit caliber watch at a 2-digit price - Item description: Invicta Pro Diver Automatic Stainless Steel Brand: Invicta Item: B07M5J8QWM Date received: 2023-07-02 Headline - 3- to 4-digit caliber watch at a 2-digit price Product Claims 1 ct, stainless steel Invicta Pro Diver model 29177 automatic (self-winding) Diver's Watch I received exactly what was claimed in the product description. It was professionally boxed in a nice Invicta hinged box. After a number of hours of evaluating other watches I was hopeful for this one, but what I got blew away my expectations. My requirements: I was looking for low maintenence (stainless steel, and at least a mineral crystal - a sapphire crystal would have been ideal but I have to manage my expectations in my price range, and while we're on that I was hoping to stay inside a $400, and it keeps time to within a second. I have to give that level of accuracy up for a self-winding watch in my price range. It turns out that non-quartz, non-battery, self-winding mechanical watches that are not in the "ridiculous" price range, typically have guaranteed accuracies in the -20 to +40 seconds per day (temperature dependent), with individual watches often bettering that number but not guaranteed to do so. I would prefer better accuracy, but I was willing to compromise to that level (worst-case) in order to get everything else at a lower price. I found a lot of inexpensive watches that met most of the criteria, but not all (especially not the self-winding requirement). I found a few watches that met all the criteria, but the cheapest of them was $200+, if not several times that. Then I found this watch and it seemed almost too good to be true. The reviews were largely optimistic so I decided to take a risk and ordered it. What I found with this watch: Very attractive packaging: supremely suitable for gifting Assembly location: Malaysia Power: self-winding, allegedly 41 hour power reserve (I haven't tested that yet) Movement: Seiko NH35A Japanese movement with 24 jewels, beats at 21,600 bph (6 beats per second), includes hacking (ability to stop and adjust the second hand independent of the minute/hour hands), hand-windable, and impossible to over-wind Construction: stainless steel, diver's watch with screw-in crown (rated as water-resistant at 200m), self-adjustable metal band with a safety clasp Look and feel: It has that subjective "masculine rugged but professional" look Weight: (less one link) 140.33 grams Size: 32 mm crystal, 42 mm bezel ring, 13.9 mm thick (15 mm to the top of the date bezel) Features: Luminous hands and dial hours, sweep second hand, date (but not day or month), easy to adjust My immediate experience: I opened the box, pulled it out (hands were already moving as I pulled it out), removed the crystal protection films, adjusted the time and date on the watch, did a manual wind, and immediately wore it for a day. The band was too loose so I pulled the micro-adjustment in on the closure as far as it would go, and that helped, but it was still able to rotate on my wrist, so on the second day I removed a link from the band, which went fairly quickly and well, and gave me the tightness that I was looking for without being overly tight. I appreciate that I can make major and minor adjustments on the band without needing to take it to a jeweler. What level of accuracy did I get? On my first two consecutive days it was 6 seconds fast each day. Better than guaranteed by the movement, and better than expected, so I'm very happy with that. What did I not get? Everything that was promised was delivered. However, since I brought it up, for the price I did not get a sapphire crystal (but of course it does not come with that). My only real quibble is with the nighttime luminosity - I found that the luminous hands and dial markers are rather dim; yes, they are there and usable, but they are difficult to see until your eyes adapt to the darkness.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Why such a big mark down from the original price ?**
A: Invicta is a markup brand. If you were to buy a watch from their site. You would be hit with many discounts/promo codes to lower the cost to a fraction of the original so you feel like you’re getting a deal when your really paying what’s its worth.

**Q: Is this a real invicta or clone?**
A: Oh it's very real!! Awesome watch!

**Q: Is this a joke? $995 for an Invicta?**
A: Invicta MSRPs shown on their web site are grossly inflated compared to Amazon or most dealer's prices. If interested in an Invicta, or many other watches, look around for the best current sale price.

**Q: Looking for anyones opinion on the durability and longevity?**
A: For the record im not a watch nerd. Im just a dude who likes cool looking watches. I do own multiple Invicta watches. Im quite fond of them. They usually look great, feel great and fit great. The movement in this watch is the NH35. It’s made by seiko. From what YouTube and watch nerds say, this movement is pretty baller. It’s been around for ever. It’s a great plat form. No its not Rolex. But for us commoners this movement is very nice, solid and proven. So your good in the movement department. The watch it’s self is aesthetically pleasing. The red and blue pop the stainless steel looks great. But the band is a huge turd. It’s the worst example I have experienced from invicta. It’s the worst jubilee style watch band I have from them. It rattles, it’s hollow it feels cheap. That’s my biggest problem. The band is a cheap turd. The rest of the watch is everything that I expect from invicta. At this price point. From what the internet says. This a great buy because of the movement. Hope this helps you. Have a good one

Beautiful watch, great price.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 3- to 4-digit caliber watch at a 2-digit price
*by R***F on July 4, 2023*

Item description: Invicta Pro Diver Automatic Stainless Steel Brand: Invicta Item: B07M5J8QWM Date received: 2023-07-02 Headline - 3- to 4-digit caliber watch at a 2-digit price Product Claims 1 ct, stainless steel Invicta Pro Diver model 29177 automatic (self-winding) Diver's Watch I received exactly what was claimed in the product description. I also wanted a watch with a "masculine, rugged but professional" look - a subjective thing. My research: I have a quartz watch that retails for >$400, and it keeps time to within a second. I have to give that level of accuracy up for a self-winding watch in my price range. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A Very Handsome Brand New Invicta 42mm Stainless Steel Pro Diver_Day 1
*by R***T on February 18, 2021*

Just today received my new Invicta 42mm Silver Pro Diver Model 21978 with the stainless steel jubilee bracelet from Amazon. Delivery from Amazon was quite fast, in 2 days as promised. The watch arrived in the classic yellow Invicta watch box including the standard instruction manual and Invicta polishing cloth. Given the price point, the build quality for this watch appears to be well above my initial expectation. Took it to my local jeweler who quickly sized it to my 7.25" wrist. As you can see from the photo, at 42mm, this watch is rather large, but is very much to my liking. The black dial with silver indices and silver markings on the black bezel is very readable. Although the design is clearly a homage to the Rolex Submariner, the Invicta branding makes it clear that this is not a Submariner. And, at $75.50, the value of this 200M dive rated watch is extraordinary. The bezel rotation and crown action is very positive and very smooth. The jubilee bracelet is comfortable and quite adequate. The Seiko NH35A Japanese automatic movement has a long history for quality and mechanical accuracy. I have not been a fan of Invicta watches in the past, however, I love the way this Invicta Pro Diver looks on my wrist and like the overall quality. I plan to provide a more in-depth review after a few months. If you are thinking about buying this 42mm Pro Diver and have any questions about this Invicta watch, please do not hesitate to leave a comment. Update 03/10/2021 Its been three weeks since I received my new Invicta 42mm Diver and I am so thrilled with it that I could not wait a few months to post an update. This watch looks and feels so much better than expected. The quality at this price point is nothing short of amazing. I have worn it on and off together with my Seiko SKX007 pretty much every day, and will often keep it on to sleep at night with no issues. The black dial with white lume indices is crisp and easily readable. The bezel is piano black with silver minute marks which provides a nice compliment to the black dial. It also lines up perfectly with the chapter ring and the rotation, although quite firm, is smooth and precise. The lume is not as good as a Seiko SKX007, but it is quite adequate. With a 30 second charge, the lume will pretty much last all night. The Japanese NH35A caliber movement is a real workhorse, is quite reliable, and makes for a great daily tool watch. The jubilee bracelet is very attractive and is quite comfortable. After having it sized by my local jeweler, I decided I needed to tighten it up a bit which I was able to do very easily with the 4 micro adjustments on the clasp. I really cannot say enough good things about this 42mm Submariner homage. I have never been a fan of the oversized Invicta quartz watches, however, this 42mm automatic is something quite special to me. Some reviews have criticized the Invicta branding on this diver, however, I tend to like it and think it adds its own charm to this beautiful timepiece. If you can find this watch at or below $75 dollars, I would not hesitate to recommend that you make the purchase. You will not be disappointed!
