Flash of Brilliance Animal Flash Cards with Fun Facts and Spanish and French Translations for Each Animal

I bought these after reading the first review and am very glad I did. The cards ade on very thick cardstock. My son loves photographic animal cards. These are great. Following the suggestion in a review of ither cards, I punch a hole in a corner if the cards and attach them together with a round ring.These are among tge thickest cards we have. It was difficult punching holes in them because of their thickness. One side has a photograph of the animal on a white background and the name if the species in bild lowercase. For e.g., "rhino" appears below the photograph of a Black Rhino, as of this writing, there are only 6 left alive in the world.The photo appears in a block on the other side as well, next to the Spanish and French names for the species. E.g.,Spanish: el roniceronteel re-no-they-ron'-teyFrench: le rhinocerosluh rino-se-rosThe rest of each card is filled with fun facts about each species, in large print.the species are porcupine, horse, ladybug, lion, (barn) owl, hawk, ( african pugmy) goat, giraffe, frog, donkey, dig, (grizzly) vear, chicken, baboon, flamingo, (bactrian) camel, cat, ( Asian) elephant, duck, (American Bald) eagle, cow, zebra, tortoise, snake, sheep.

My 17 months love them! And so do I … they have a good size and she haven’t been able to bend or break them… also is great for our family since we do English, Spanish and French at home

We've been looking for flashcards for quite some time for our soon-to-be two year old and I am so glad we found these! They are awesome! Very durable and perfect for little hands. Love the real life pictures instead of animated pictures and I really love the fun facts on the back. Also really like that they have the animal's name in French & Spanish on the backside as well. My daughter is loving playing and learning with these cards. I can't wait to get the other ones they offer.

These cards are great! I love that they have real animal pictures, not drawings of animals. And also they have several facts about each animal in the back, so while you hold the card facing your child, you can read to him about the animal. They are sturdy so if the kids play rough with them they will hold up well. I think that this is a great way of teaching your child about animals without taking him/her to a zoo.

The animal photos were somewhat small.

As others have noted, these are high quality (i.e. thick and heavy duty) flashcards that will last for several years. The factoids on the back are interesting and will entertaining older kids, while the pictures are good for the younger ones.Two stars deducted because:1) There are a few perplexing animal inclusions. For example, why include ladybug (is it really an "animal"?) but not include a panda or koala, which are familiar zoo animals?2) There is a lot of white space on several of the cards. I think that they could have expanded the animal image for several of them.3) The French pronunciation seems way off to me on several of the animals (e.g. snake). I don't speak Spanish so can't comment on those pronunciations.

The cards are nice and sturdy but reason for the two star rating is that some of the cards were cut incorrectly. On the front you can tell the cut is not centered which end ups cutting off the facts on the back. If I payed $5 for the cards it wouldn't be a big deal but for $29 they should be cut correctly so I can read the facts on the back clearly. The two cards on the left are the ones cut incorrectly where as the card with the dog is cut perfectly and the facts can be read without any issues.

These are just what I was looking for - good picture, really sturdy and I love the facts on the back. Makes it interesting for us adults with the tiny little ones who are using these just to have fun with animal sounds and recognition skills. Eventually as my little one is less little, I imagine she too will enjoy the information on the back - oh and I love having the Spanish and French names on the back as well.
