It's the only game in town
Well worth it! If you're like me, you have speakers, a tablet, extra drives, monitor, keyboard and a couple of chargers going. I looked and looked. I couldn't find a cheaper adapter with everything I needed, so I bought the refurb version. All too much equipment for standard adapters. And this is the only one with 4 of the newest ports. Technically, the laptop should power everything, but it doesn't do it well. Sometimes the drives disconnect. Speakers now have much more volume. The adapter has its own power source and a faster connection. Now everything works โ better! It is expensive, but I'm very happy with it.

Expensive, unreliable junk
This thing costs a lot of money, but if it simplified my cabling situation and gave me a few more handy ports, it would be worth it. Unfortunately, it just doesn't work well. I have to turn my external monitor on and off a dozen times every time I wake my computer from sleep, in order to get it to detect it. That's incredibly annoying, but on top of that, the USB ports and card slots on the front randomly stop working, which means I end up having to connect another hub/card reader. What's the point?

A capable hub for a MacBook Air
Moving to a 2019 MBA from an older model meant the loss of Thunderbolt, a number of USB ports (and an SD card) in favor of two USB-C connections. This hub not only replaced the lost ports, but added several new ones. I liked this so much I bought one for home and one for work. My only wish was that it had a Thunderbolt connection for my Apple Display, rather than requiring a Thunderbolt to USB-C adapter as well.

Best Thunderbolt 3 Dock Available.
This is the only dock on the market that I see with 2 thunderbolt 3, 2 usb-c, and 2 usb-a, in addition to display port, 3.5mm SD & Micro SD slots. So, since USB offers more power than USB-A, I was able to buy a 4 port usb-a to usb-c hub, and plug 4 legacy 5v devices to a single usb-c port on the dock! That leaves my two front usb-a ports for temporary or random connection needs. One of the Thunderbolt cables are connected to my Mac, and the other to my Apple Thunderbolt display via adapter. I run an Inateck dual bay 2.5 enclosure on bus-powered via usb-c. Update: My M1 MaMini had some kernel basics with it, but now I'm using the MacBook Pro M1 without those issues. Still one of the best hubs on the market.

Worked for 2 weeks. Now can't even run 1 monitor.
Literally don't waste your money. I wanted to have a dock where I can have 1 wire going into my macbook pro. Started with 2 LG 4K monitors (1 via displayport, 1 via hdmi), 1 DSLR connected via usb-c, 1 scarlette 2i2 audio interface connected via usb-c and 1 mechanical keywordboard connected via usb on front. Within 2 days the camera started disconnecting and reconnecting, removed that and went back to macbook's web cam. Few days later monitors started the same thing. Removed one of the monitors, worked for about 1 week. Now I have 1 monitor plugged in via displayport, audio interface and the monitor constantly disconnected and reconnects every 2-3 minutes. Will be trying to get a refund for this pile of metal on my desk.

I've been using this with my 16" MacBook Pro for about 6 months, and it works great.

Great workhorse TB3 dock
This is for the new Pro version of the dock. So far, this thing seems great. I decided to return the CalDigit TB3 dock after it began emitting a high-pitched buzzing sound whenever my laptop was disconnected. Rather than replace the CalDigit, I decided to upgrade to this brand new Elgato dock and so far I couldn't be happier. It's dead quiet. No electronic buzzing sound when connected or disconnected, unlike the CalDigit. It runs WARM, but not HOT, also unlike the CalDigit, which could get very hot to the touch. All my devices wake up promptly when connecting my laptop. Appearance is also great. The aluminum finish is almost exactly the same as my space gray macbook, although the texture is a bit rougher, giving it a slightly more matte sheen. Fit and finish seem great. All the ports are flush and the edges smooth. Nice big rubber feet on the bottom. My setup: TB3 -> 2017 Macbook Pro 15" Displayport -> Viewsonic 4k Monitor USBC -> Topping USB DAC USBC -> Logitech webcam USBC -> Ducky wired keyboard Occasional usage of front SD card slot for photo transfer Occasional usage of front USBA ports for Mouse/Trackpad charging

Great product but not very durable
I bought Elganto Pro for my MacBookPro 2019 due to the power rating (80W). The product was great, and I really enjoyed working the last half a year. I've connected two monitors one from the display port and the other USB-C thunderbolt. About a month ago, it started failing on the second monitor, and it became so flaky, I could not work with this dock. Great product, but not very durable. $350 dock worked for 6 months long.
