Review: I need polycarbonate, blue-light blocking, UV-blocking glasses to play pickleball outdoors. (This sport is really big in Georgia, but throughout the southeast, really). I bought the 3-pack of these glasses to try. Voila! They are perfect for my sport. (And likely they'd work for other outdoor sports as well). Well, how have I concluded this? First, the optics are certainly good enough for me to track a pickleball, even for an old (>70) banger like me. Second, they cover pretty much the entire orbit - you know, the part of your skull with your eyeball, so that no dust gets in; in Georgia, we have that red clay dust you haven't seen since the old Flash Gordon messed around on the Planet Mongol. But, for an important third consideration, there is sufficient ventilation so that they do not fog up (although I have to say that I've started to wear that John McEnroe style headband which absorbs and wicks a whole lot of perspiration; I think it makes me look cool(er), but nobody in our group compliments me on the new look although they envy my sweatless face). Fourth, the ear pieces are adjustable; this is important since each of us has a unique skull conformation. And, fifth, you bloody well cannot believe how the world looks when you filter out the blue until you wear these: the lines on the court are vivid so calling shots is much easier; the net and the players stand out in contrast to the trees and grass of the surrounding scenery; even hitting an overhead against a lob your opponent shot into the sun - yes, your friends will do that to you, and then apologize - is certainly no worse, and I think a lot better, than getting a decent sighting with fancy sunglasses (I've been wearing LL Bean fly-fishing sunglasses). It also seems to me that it takes virtually no time at all to accommodate your eyes to the no-blue daylight since my eyes are not shaded, but rather filtered. If you are an outdoor pickleball player, these are for you. A bunch in my group are already cruising around desertcart looking for these, and shortly I will lose my advantage over them. Until then, however, I am feared. Seriously, folks, you need to remember that as you age, you will suffer from visual glaring and you will have trouble interpreting color changes even against a constantly changing outdoor scene. You may have problems visually tracking objects. Your cornea ages as you do, and of course so do the ocular muscles. So if you play a game like pickleball, where visual tracking is crucial, give yourself every legal advantage you can. (So, no, you can't hire Kyle Yates to play for you; that's illegal, and he charges too much). Try these glasses. What the heck. You've already spent enough on paddles, right?

## Questions & Answers

**Q: What EXACTLY is the purpose of these glasses? A lot of reviewers said NOT to use them for night driving or driving in general, so what then?**
A: You CAN use these for night driving but I would NOT ADVISE it. There have been a few times I wore these while friving at night and nearly hit somebody who was crossing the street which wasn't really well lit. I know I WOULD have seen these people if I had NOT been wearing these glasses. So, yeah, while they do help with headlight glare from other vehicles, I no longer wear them while driving at night. They are great for computer eyestrain though.

**Q: are they true blue blocker**
A: YES. It is the LENS that does the blocking (not the seller's description). Both the S0360X and S1933X both have the EXACT same lens: SCT-Orange. So yes, they both block blue light. Also, Consumer reports specifically tested them and said they blocked the MOST blue light.

"We tested three pairs of glasses in our labs for their ability to block blue light, measuring light intensity at all wavelengths to find out how much each lens absorbed. Of the three, only one—the Uvex Skyper safety eyewear (orange tinted), $8—cut out almost all blue light. The Gunnar Intercept gaming glasses (medium yellow), $53, cut blue light by about half, and the Spektrum Pro Blue Light Blocking Glasses (light yellow), $40, cut it by only about a third." Consumer Reports

**Q: Has anyone tried both this and and the other model they're selling on here, the S1933X? If so, could you please list any big differences? Quality, color/tint, fit (does one run bigger than the other), etc..... Thanks.**
A: I have tried both. I find the S0360X more comfortable. It is larger and offers protection on the sides as well as front. The smaller S1933X did not fit well over my glasses. Contrary to what others have posted, both offer the SAME amount of blue blocking protection as both have the same lens: SCT-Orange.

**Q: Do these block blue light from TV?**
A: Consumer Reports did a review of three different brands/styles of glasses claiming to block blue light, which included these Uvex Skypers. Of the three pairs of glasses tested, the Skypers were the most effective at blocking blue light . . . and are the most affordable. :-)Go here to see the full review:http://www.consumerreports.org/eyeglass-stores/3-blue-blockers-put-to-the-test/

I've shared the other two pairs with loved ones. I searched everywhere for LEGITIMATE, science-proven producers. You can't beat Uvex. The company behind the production has a long list of incredible breakthrough items. Keep in mind, these glasses will dilute and mute computer and flat-screen color hues. But, since it's only for a short period of time (during when you should be sleeping anyhow), just get used to it.
