It's exactly what wax paper is supposed to be!
Once upon a time, all wax paper was pretty much like this... sturdy, good weight, easy to tear off. Unfortunately, Reynolds, the company that makes excellent aluminum foil, really sucks at making wax paper. Sure, it's way cheaper to buy than Waxtex... but in the end is it really less expensive? I can't begin to count the number of times I've had to throw away what I had just torn off the roll of Reynolds Cut-Rite wax paper. It's flimsy and yet it's almost impossible to get a decent clean and even tear. In the end, I may have tossed as much as I used. I'm sticking with Waxtex.

Good product.
While this is more expensive than most, it is worth the extra cost. Use while making caramels and holds up well, is sturdier than most.

Same product, great value.
This is the same waxed paper I buy in much smaller rolls and much higher cost at the grocery stores. The bigger roll means less packaging. Fine, predictable product at an excellent value and convenience.

A Household Staple for My 55 Years.
It's so nice to have a product that doesn't change with the times. I remember always having Waxtex in the house when I was growing up in the 1950s and 1960s. It's quality is the same now as it was back then. After checking Google, I see that there are ads from the 1940s for Waxtex. It was produced, at that time, by Marathon Paper Mills, in Wisconsin. I've used other types of wax paper and I guess they are okay. Cut-Rite was always available too. But, knowing that there is still something I can count on that's been there my whole life really seems to make a difference. I can't seem to find out much more about the company that produces or the history of it. Even though the information seems to be hard to obtain--the product isn't. And, for that I am grateful.

Wax paper is great!
The wax paper is great but the packing of the rolls was pretty crushed when delivered.
