They have withstood lots of rough play alone and with friends, taken apart and back together again, probably 100 times. I recommend getting at least two maybe three different cars because the parts are interchangeable. My son loves mixing the car pieces up and "creating" his own car. These are expensive but worth every dime. There are different sizes available, and although he enjoys the larger ones, he probably enjoys this size the most, so don't spend more money on the bigger ones. At almost 7 years old, he is still playing with them and I foresee him continuing to play with them for years to come. One note of caution, as a toddler he always wanted to bring these in the bath and they are wood, so I don't recommend doing that.
