### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Minimalistic electronic punk rock
*by L***H on July 25, 2016*

Low tech. Low-fi. True electronica minimalism that captures that early 80s aesthetic which can never be fully replicated--tho there are current electronic bands clearly influenced by acts like Nitzer Ebb, early New Order, and so on (like Cold Cave) that are doing something new and old at the same time. And that's rad. But this album, Nitzer Ebb's first very first, but basically unofficial album, is a little more punk rock in its delivery and performance. Still, sounds like Nitzer Ebb's very own, unique sound (aggressive, pulsing, pounding). But I do like to hear those punk influences coming through these sparse electronic songs. "The Passage" actually sounds a bit like Bauhaus, which is also rad. Anyway, good stuff and something I was excited to learn the band had finally released officially. Btw, you can find this on vinyl for $14 at the record company's website. Good deal.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ So happy this has been made available after so long
*by S***R on September 22, 2013*

I was a huge NE fan dating back to That Total Age and So Bright, So Strong. In other words, i was a fan way before they toured with Depeche Mode, and while i don't care much for DM, i have always thought Nitzer Ebb created some timeless, classic industrial music up until they sold out with Ebbhead and Big Hit. And even those and other later works were still decent. What i really truly missed however was to be able to get back to the roots of their earlier, minimalistic, driving, adrenalin pumping, fierce chanting style. Now, finally, a time capsule has been opened, and we have the rare treat to hear Nitzer Ebb when they were just barely becoming known, predating even So Bright, So Strong. The recording quality and complexity is more stripped down for sure (much like So Bright, So Strong) but that is what makes it so authentic and classic. There is also a concert on the CD in addition to the 8 studio songs. If you are an old school Ebbhead then you MUST add this to your collection. Enjoy and be grateful!
