I like gas burners on glass (gas on glass) as they are called because you can take a razor blade and scrape the glass clean,Also I like it separate from an oven because it cosst a heck of a lot less. If you try to buy an oven with a gas on glass top you will spend a lot of money these days. I wanted one with a full grid over the surface of the top so the pan can be placed anywhere on or off a burner without tipping. There is no real reason why an oven has to have a burner directly above it. Furthermore if either unit fails you still have the other one working. This unit had a unusual compression gas connection. In this country most are rather conical in their male and female connection. This one was has a flat surface. Neither of these require tape they are compression fittings. However when we assembled this one it gave us a little bit of a fit in the form of a slight gas leak which after some inspection and scratching our heads we discovered that a thread shard from the machining of the gas fitting elbow ( that is a free one that came in the package) was down on the seat inhibiting a complete compressive seal. We blew the thread shard out and everything was fine. that is the first time in my life I've ever seen a thread shard in a gas fitting. The knobs are not as sexy as they might be but that's a matter of personal opinion. Otherwise good. And remember it's always the gas burner that ends up looking lousy after a number of years so in this scenario you can replace it independent of the oven for almost no money, while the oven will continue to work and work

Finally reached the point of our project to install, found out that power is still required so it defeats the Keppra of propane for our purposes, but return window is closed. So not purchase this is you're not wanting to plug it in.

We were super excited to get this propane cooktop installed. Installation was simple & quick. We have propane, and switching out the supplied orifices was easy along with adjusting the flame. However, after almost a month of using it, we started to smell a small hint of propane in our kitchen. The propane guy checked all the connections and they were all good. He said that he detected a propane leak INSIDE the body of the cooktop, which he could not access. This very small gas leak completely emptied TWO brand new propane cylinders within the short amount of time we had this connected.The cooktop functioned great when it was working. When it was originally installed, we did not smell ANY propane while the cooktop was in the OFF position. However, a few weeks after installation is when we started to smell the propane leak, which was confirmed.Amazon told us this is a "non-returnable" item, but said that we would get an Amazon Gift Card as a "refund" for the defective cooktop. Now we wait for the refund and have to find another brand, because we won't buy this same one again.
